Parents are required to give at least 3 weeks notice. A parish information booklet entitled ‘Preparing for Baptism, Beginning the Journey; welcoming new life into the community, handing on the faith.' is available at the Parish Office. A member of the Parish Baptism Team will visit the parents to help in the preparations for baptism.
Parents should bring the following with them on the day of the christening

Baptisms on Sunday 20th September 2009 God our Father, all things are your gift to us. Father, giver of life, we thank you for the precious gift of our child. You have entrusted this child to us and we are to be the first teachers of the child in the ways of faith. May we be the best of teachers, showing our child the faith by what we say and do. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son. Amen.
A Prayer for Godparents O Lord, help me be a good God-parent. May my friendship and prayer lovingly support this child in the years ahead. May all I do and say be an example for my God-child to follow and an inspiration for him/her in the ways of faith. May God keep us in his love. Amen.
The Baptism Team The Baptism team is a group of people, conscious of their calling as baptised members of God's family committed to enabling parents and families celebrate baptism in the true sense. They visit the home, share in the parents' excitement of the new born infant and invite the parents into a deeper understanding of baptism and the duties baptism places upon them. One or two members of the team are present on the day of the baptism. The members of the Baptism Team are;
